Shiva Moghanloo is an Iranian writer, researcher, lecturer and translator. Based in Tehran, she earned B.A and M.A degree in cinema (film studies) from Art University, Tehran (2003).

Her works of fiction, biography, art and cinema studies have been published and received critical acclaims. She has written 4 short story collections from 2003 on now. Some of the stories of her first and second collections have received local prizes and translated to other languages (English- Kurdish- Turkish). Her third one has won some important prizes in Iran. The forth is under publishing now, contains 40 short and ontological literary texts which have focused on ordinary human life and accomplished by original pictures.

Her main concerns are women and their issues, human problems, and especially historical challenges which are repeated in all times. Her works playfully synthesize facts and fictions, now and then, and trues and lies to come to a new atmosphere which is unique and new.

As a translator, she has introduced many vivid English-language works to Persian audiences, like Dew Breaker by Edwidge Danticat (by author permission), Lost in the Fun House by John Barth (by copy right), 39 Steps by John Buchan, some main works by Donald Barthelme, as well as some classic novel for young adults such as Gulliver Travels and Black Beauty.

She has been a visiting lecturer in some governmental academies like Art University and Sooreh University, as well schools and institutes such as karnameh, Porsesh, Baharan since 2005.  Her teachings mainly cover film analysis, script analysis, writing skills, and literature history.

Shiva has done some cinematic projects for IRIB national TV as writer and researcher. As a cultural counselor and executive director in national and international cultural projects, she runs many programs in Iran, and a few other countries.

She has been a member of jury in many national literature and film festivals and has hold several workshops in different cities across Iran.
